THIS WEEK IN REFLECTION
This week was a mess to say the least. I have tp deal with all my clothes that were in a pile because they need to go to the cleaners to get pressed. Linen but I don’t like to iron! I have truly let our master bedroom become just a pile of stuff. We have 2 green chairs in the room that are really good mid-century specimens that belonged to my mother. All we use it for is to pile stuff on.
The painters came and what I thought would be a one day job became 2 days. I thought it could all be done in a day but I was wrong. Had to spend the night in the guest room.
I had the. bedroom painted Misty by Sherwin Williams. Even though it is in the gray family (not a grey lover at all) it shows up more blue than grey in our bedroom. When all was said and done I decided to paint the crown moulding and the interior doors and trim a darker blue instead of the beigy color that it was .
I did not communicate with my husband about the change coming to the trim. He was in shock. I told him to wait a month and then get back to me haha. .
What’s next?
On the upside I found 2 repurposed Asian nightstands on Facebook marketplace. Just have to go and pick them up now! That helped my budget tremendously.
We will paint the baseboards after the floor is replaced. This week I hope to have the curtains installed. I am also actively trying to sort out my clothes and junk in the room. I am thinking this is going to involve me organizing my closet too.
Congratulations on so much progress, Ilse! I’m still in the shoveling out stage of mine…not sure I’m going to pull it all together until the 11th hour at this rate! And fun choice to paint the trim in the accent color! Always better to ask forgiveness than permission LOL
I really like your trim color! Looking forward to seeing the progress!
I think I need to do the ORC so that I am forced to organize my closet, too! Score on the nightstands! Can’t wait to see more of your progress!
Love the paint color Ilse! Can’t wait to see the finished result!
Trim color looks great. Of course, I love that you are brave with color. Love watching your progress:)
Can’t wait to see the final outcome ♥️
Hi Ilse: I know it’s going to all come out beautifully in the end, and I really do hope you find a great use for those chairs that were your Mom’s chairs. I look forward to seeing how those come out!
What fun watching the design process of the One Room Challenge and the change your primary bedroom! Your chosen color combination feels rich and mod, can’t wait to see the results.
Great progress! I love the painted crown moulding. Looking forward to seeing some more! Baie mooi!
